Target group
This course is designed for teachers, school leaders, youth workers, student council coordinators, citizenship educators, and educational managers who want to strengthen participatory learning and democratic practice within their classrooms, schools, and wider educational communities.
Course objective
This course helps educators create democratic learning environments where learners actively participate in decision-making processes and develop democratic competences through authentic, hands-on experiences rather than theory alone, preparing teachers to apply these approaches directly within their own schools and classrooms.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Promote student participation in school life;
- Facilitate democratic decision-making processes;
- Encourage dialogue, debate, and critical thinking;
- Develop inclusive and participatory school cultures;
- Strengthen democratic competences among learners.
Why choose this course?
Democracy cannot be taught only through theory. Learners develop democratic competences when they actively participate in school life. This course offers practical strategies, real classroom examples, and hands-on tools for transforming schools into genuinely democratic communities where every voice matters.
Our trainers
Experts in democratic education, youth participation, educational leadership, and civic engagement, bringing practical, field-tested experience from schools and youth organisations across Europe that have successfully built stronger student voice and participatory decision-making structures.
