Target group
This course is designed for teachers, educators, and professionals working with children and young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, along with special education professionals, youth workers, social workers, school leaders, and project coordinators.
Course objective
This course offers participants practical strategies to design and implement outdoor learning experiences that foster inclusion, engagement, and well-being. Participants will explore how nature-based education can support learners with diverse needs and contribute to a more inclusive, welcoming school culture overall.

Experienced Danish educators and international trainers with a background in inclusive outdoor learning, experiential pedagogy, and education for sustainability. The team combines theory with practical, field-based approaches drawn from real schools and outdoor education programmes across Europe.

Day 1
Introduction to Outdoor Education & Inclusion

Day 2
Designing Inclusive Outdoor Activities

• Encouraging collaboration and peer support in outdoor settings.
• Hands-on session: Designing an inclusive outdoor activity.
Day 3
Facilitation and Safety in Outdoor Education
• Facilitating outdoor learning: Role of the educator.
• Risk assessment and safety considerations in outdoor education.
• Building confidence and resilience through outdoor experiences.
• Practical exercise: Conducting an outdoor session with inclusive elements.
Day 4
Community Involvement and Sustainability

Action Planning and Certification
