Target group
This course is designed for teachers, school leaders, counsellors, and other professionals working with children affected by migration (CAM) in schools and educational organisations across Europe.
Course objective
This course empowers educators to create inclusive, supportive, and creative learning environments for migrant children. Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to address the emotional, social, and academic challenges faced by CAM, fostering harmonious coexistence, resilience, and wellbeing for all students.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the emotional and social impact of migration on children;
- Apply inclusive practices and strategies for emotional well-being and resilience;
- Be able to design and implement school-wide policies that promote equality, inclusion, and harmonious coexistence.

Understanding Migration and Its Impact on Learning
• Introduction to migration-related challenges in education
• Exploring the impact of trauma and loss on learning
• Case study: A real-life example of a migrant child's adaptation
• Group reflection on biases and cultural awareness
Day 2
Building Emotional Resilience and Social Inclusion
• Social and emotional learning (SEL) techniques
• Active listening and creating safe spaces
• Role-playing exercises to develop empathy
• Case study: Peer mentoring programs for migrant students
Day 3
Conflict Resolution and Trauma-Sensitive Education
• Restorative justice practices in schools
• Trauma-informed teaching approaches
• Case study: Resolving conflicts through restorative dialogue
• Developing school-wide strategies for inclusion
Day 4
Implementing Whole School Inclusion Policies
• Developing and implementing inclusion policies
• Culturally responsive teaching strategies
• Engaging parents and communities in school initiatives
• Final project: Designing an inclusion action plan
Day 5
The Danish Education System & Certification
• Overview of Danish policies on inclusive education
• Final evaluation and peer feedback
• Awarding certificates and discussion on next steps
